For the first time, the koncerz was recorded in the Census book in 1686/1687s, where it had been evaluated at a considerable sum - 50 rubles, and written the fifth in a row among all other koncerzes.

Koncerz and Scabbard

In the museum's inventory, koncerz is supposedly attributed to the 18th c. as the Hungarian; in the List of the Moscow Armoury Chamber of 1886, it is recorded as t the Turkish koncerz of the 18th c. It belongs to the koncerzes of the Hungarian type that were spread in some regions of Eastern Europe and the Osman Empire in the 17th-18th cc.
By the end of the 17th-beginning of the 18th cc. the combat koncerzes became almost out of use together with the rider's armours for punching of which they were designed.
